Eeeek!

So, Simon's in the air right now, as his plane took off an hour and 20 minutes ago. I went and picked up my visa this morning instead of after the weekend, having spoken to them yesterday to see if I could collect it early, and then got my hundreds of thousands of Korean Won (it's approx. 2100 Won to the pound at the moment) from the bank.

It's all been really rushed but, with a whole weekend to go, I think I might be ready! I know that's hard to believe and I'm sure that come Monday I'll be tearing around trying to sort something out or buy something at the last minute but I really hope that doesn't happen.

I've found out that I'll be living in Itaewon, north of the river in Seoul and not too far from my school. I am excited about Korea but a little apprehensive about the job. I haven't taught the age range before (6-13 in mixed age classes) but the school sounds great so I'm sure it'll all be all right.

So, three full days left and then off I go on Monday evening. Waaaaaah!

Almost time to go

Well, it's nearing the end of February now and, fingers crossed, I'm flying around the 3rd or 4th March. I do finally have a job and I've signed the contract and everything so we're just waiting for my visa number to come through from Korea and then I'll go to the Korean Consulate in London to get the visa, which takes five working days.

I know it's not that interesting a first post but I thought I'd better write something.

Whatisthis?

Hi! This is my blog for our year long trip to Korea. Yes, I might have set it up to rival Simon's 'Simon and Hannah go to Korea' blog but I will actually post here.

Probably.

Anyway, hello and I hope you enjoy it!
